Studoo is hosted on Vercel Inc. (USA). Vercel processes requests to deliver the site securely and quickly. Where UK or EU law applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage (e.g. remembering your cookie choice) and session identifiers used for security.

3. How we ask for consent

When you first visit our public pages, we show a banner so you can choose Essential only or Accept all.

Essential only — we use only the cookies and storage needed to run the service, keep you signed in where applicable, and remember that you declined optional analytics.
Accept all — we also enable Vercel Web Analytics to collect aggregated, privacy-focused usage data (see below).

Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key studoo_cookie_consent. It is not used for advertising profiles.

4. Cookies and technologies we use

4.1 Strictly necessary (always on)

These are required for the website to function and for security:

Authentication & session (Supabase) — When you log in, our auth provider (Supabase) sets cookies to keep your session secure. Without these, sign-in and protected areas (student/parent dashboards) do not work.
Hosting & delivery (Vercel) — Vercel may set or use cookies and similar tokens to route traffic, protect against abuse, enable edge caching, and ensure reliability. These are part of standard web hosting.
Payments (Stripe) — If you subscribe, Stripe may set cookies when you use their checkout or customer portal. Their use is governed by Stripe's policies.

4.2 Optional — analytics (only if you accept)

If you click Accept all, we load Vercel Web Analytics. This helps us understand aggregate traffic (e.g. page views, performance) without selling your data. Vercel's analytics is designed to avoid personal cross-site tracking; see Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information for details.

If you choose Essential only, we do not load this analytics script.

4.3 We do not use

Third-party advertising or behavioural ad networks on the marketing site.
Social media pixels for retargeting (unless we add them in future and update this policy).

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of Studoo (especially logged-in features) may not work. Instructions are available from your browser vendor (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.).

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our site, vendors, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will change; we encourage you to review this page periodically.
